This qualification is designed for those who work in a supervisory, management or training role and require the knowledge and skills to manage the health and safety of a workplace. Qualification Objective This qualification is designed for those who work in a supervisory, management or training role and require the knowledge and skills to manage the health and safety of a workplace. Level 1 Award in Fire Safety Awareness 4 Hours delivered by a qualified trainer. This is a course designed to provide the underpinning knowledge for learners to operate safely in the workplace with regards to fire safety. Qualification Objective To provide all employees with an excellent induction into fire safety in the workplace, or as an excellent refresher on fire safety. The award is for employees who want to develop their fire safety awareness in order to assist their employers, by undertaking more specific fire safety roles in the workplace to manage fire risk (e.g. as fire wardens/marshals/stewards etc.) There is a great importance of fire safety in the workplace, which is underpinned by health and safety legislation, that places a duty on employers to establish policies and procedures and ensure their employees receive appropriate training. Level 2 Award in Manual Handling Principles and Practice 4 to 6 Hours delivered by a qualified trainer. This qualification is designed to provide learners with the knowledge and skills to safely move objects in the workplace. The course builds on the best practice guidance from the Health and Safety Executive and provides learners with the opportunity to practice safe moving principles. Qualification Objective to provide an understanding of the safe principles of manual handling, then being able to apply these principles to practical safe manual handling tasks.
