 Health & Safety Qualifications   Principles of Health and Safety in the Workplace 2 to 3 Hours delivered by a qualified trainer. Covers   basics   of   Health   &   Safety   in   the   workplace,   intended   for   new   staff   as   an   induction   or   refresher   training for existing staff. Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace (RQF)   Qualification Objective To   provide   an   introduction   to   health   and   safety   in   the   workplace   and   accommodate   induction   training   for   all new employees or as a good refresher. 4 Hours training. This   qualification   is   made   up   of   one   mandatory   unit   -   Unit   1:   Introduction   to   Health   and   Safety   for   People   at Work Health and Safety in the Workplace – Summary of Learning Outcomes, this unit has 4 Learning outcomes: 1 . Understand the importance of health, safety and welfare standards in the workplace 2 . Know how hazards and risks are controlled in the workplace 3 . Be aware of the main causes and effects of poor health and safety at work 4 . Understand how health and safety information is communicated in the workplace Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace (RQF) 6 Hours delivered by a qualified trainer. The   qualification   is   aimed   at   all   employees   whether   new   starters,   currently   in   employment   or   seeking   work.     The   purpose   of   the   qualification   is   to   provide   learners   with   the   knowledge   to   identify   workplace   hazards   and contribute   to   the   positive   health   and   safety   culture   within   the   workplace.   The   qualification   contains   subjects which    are    essential    in    maintaining    a    safe    working    environment.        The    qualification    also    provides    a demonstration of the employer’s commitment to fulfil their legal obligation to provide training to its employees. Understand how to identify and control the risks from common workplace hazards 4. Know the procedures for responding to accidents and incidents in the workplace   Level 3 Award in Supervising Health and Safety in the Workplace (RQF)   18 Hours delivered by a qualified trainer and distance learning. This   qualification   is   designed   for   those   who   work   in   a   supervisory,   management   or   training   role   and   require the knowledge and skills to manage the health and safety of a workplace Qualification Objective This   qualification   is   designed   for   those   who   work   in   a   supervisory,   management   or   training   role   and   require the knowledge and skills to manage the health and safety of a workplace.  This qualification is made up of one mandatory unit Unit 1: Supervising Health and Safety in the Workplace Supervising   Health   and   Safety   in   the   Workplace   –   Summary   of   Learning   Outcomes,   This   unit   has   5   Learning outcomes: 1 . Understand the requirements for health, safety and welfare in the workplace 2 . Understand the benefits of using a safety management system 3 . Understand the principles of risk assessment 4 . Understand the risks and control methods for common workplace hazards 5 . Understand how to manage the effects of accidents and incidents   . Level 1 Award in Fire Safety Awareness (RQF)   4 Hours delivered by a qualified trainer. This   is   a   course   designed   to   provide   the   underpinning   knowledge   for   learners   to   operate   safely   in   the workplace with regards to fire safety Qualification Objective To   provide   all   employees   with   an   excellent   induction   into   fire   safety   in   the   workplace,   or   as   an   excellent refresher on fire safety.  This qualification is made up of one mandatory unit Unit 1: Fire Safety Awareness Fire Safety Awareness – Summary of Learning Outcomes, This unit has 3 Learning outcomes: 1 . Understand basic fire safety and what to do in the event of an emergency 2 . Understand the principles of fire risk control 3 . Understand the basics of practical fire safety  Principles of Fire Safety and the Role of the Fire Marshall. 3 to 4 Hours delivered by a qualified trainer. Paul   R   salmon   have   designed   this   qualification   for   staff   that   has   been   appointed   or   intend   to   be   appointed   as a fire marshal/warden in the workplace.     Qualification Details .   The   award   is   for   employees   who   want   to   develop   their   fire   safety   awareness   in   order   to   assist   their employers,   by   undertaking   more   specific   fire   safety   roles   in   the   workplace   to   manage   fire   risk   (e.g.   as   fire wardens/marshals/stewards   etc.)      There   is   a   great   importance   of   fire   safety   in   the   workplace,   which   is underpinned   by   health   and   safety   legislation,   that   places   a   duty   on   employers   to   establish   policies   and procedures and ensure their employees receive appropriate training. The fire safety award has one unit with four learning outcomes as follows: 1 . Understand the hazards and risks associated with fire in the workplace 2 . Understand how fire risk is controlled in the workplace 3 . Understand the principles and practices of fire safety management at work Level 2 Award in Manual Handling Principles and Practice (RQF) 4 to 6 Hours delivered by a qualified trainer. This   qualification   is   designed   to   provide   learners   with   the   knowledge   and   skills   to   safely   move   objects   in   the workplace.   The   course   builds   on   the   best   practice   guidance   from   the   Health   and   Safety   Executive   and provides learners with the opportunity to practice safe moving principles. Qualification Objective To provide an understanding of the safe principles of manual handling, then being able to apply these principles to practical safe manual handling tasks.  This qualification is made up of one mandatory unit 1. Unit 1: Manual Handling Principles and Practice Manual Handling Principles and Practice – Summary of Learning Outcomes, this unit has 4 Learning outcomes: 1. Understand the reasons for safe manual handling 2. Understand how manual handling risk assessments contribute to improving health and safety 3. Understand the principles, types of equipment and testing requirements associated with manual handling safety 4. Be able to apply safe manual handling principles NVQ Level 3 Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (RQF) Course Structure To gain this qualification you must complete 7 units, 5 mandatory units, and 2 optional units of your choice to gain the qualification. Mandatory Units 1 – Ensure responsibility for actions to reduce risk to health and safety 2 – Develop procedures to safety control and work operations 3 – Monitor procedures to safety control and work operations 4 – Promote a culture of health and safety in the workplace 5 – Conduct a health and safety risk assessment of the workplace Optional Units 6 – Investigate and evaluate health and safety incidents and complaints in the workplace 7 – Make sure actions within the workplace aim to protect the environment 8 – Review health and safety procedures in workplaces 9 – Supervise the health, safety and welfare of a learner in the workplace
